Bennie Foods
Food processing is the transformation of agricultural products into food, or of one form of food into other forms. Food processing includes many forms of processing foods, from grinding grain to make raw flour to home cooking to complex industrial methods used to make convenience foods. Some food processing methods play important roles in reducing food waste and improving food preservation, therefore reducing the wastage of food substance and improving food security.
Primary food processing is necessary to make most foods edible while secondary food processing turns the ingredients into familiar foods, such as bread. Tertiary food processing has been criticized for promoting over nutrition and obesity, containing too much sugar and salt, too little fiber, and otherwise being unhealthful in respect to dietary needs of humans and farm animals.
Bennie foods was founded in Bokkos Local Government of Plateau state Nigeria, Bokkos is one of the major producer of crops such potato, corn, beans etc. farmers from this place have suffered great lost in the quest to store and keep their farm produce for a better time to sell for better profits but end up making more lost because the crops get spoiled along the line. One of such crops with short storage life is Irish potato. Bennie foods came into place to solve such issue as talked about above.
Most of this food crops have short shelf life or storage life. In order to curtail much lost, most of this food crop must be converted or processed into other forms that can endure long shelf life.
